ARUNDEL
SALE OF WORK. The annual sale of work in aid of the Arundel Sunday School was held in the Sunday School Hall and proved most successful. The sum of £24 was raised. The stall holders were as follows. Work: Mesdames Stinson, Reid and Sim and Miss Ambler. Second Hand: Mesdames W. Barker and D. Bennett. Produce: Mesdames Love and Gailetely and Misses Gailetely and M. Gailetely. Sweets: Misses McComb and Lewis. Novelty: Miss L. Ambler. Refreshments: Mesdames W. McDonald, J. Patterson and Misses F. and J. McDonald. Miss Bowen won the guessing competition, the weight of the sheep, which was given by Messrs Blair Bros., being 71ilb. Mrs. W. Brown, and Mrs. H. Pratt tied for the women's nail driving competition and Messrs Love and Gailetely for the men’s. PRESENTATION. At the Arundel Sunday School, Eric Ambler, one of the senior scholars, on behalf of the Junior Bible Class presented Mr. Maurice Hampton, with an attache case on the eve of his departure from the district. Master Ambler expressed the sorrow of the pupils at Mr. Hampton’s departure and wished him a very happy and prosperous future. Mr. Hampton, who has been on the teaching staff of the Sunday School for the last two and ahalf years, expressed his appreciation of the gift and the good wishes expressed. . SOCIAL EVENING. At the fortnightly social held in the Howard Hall, Arundel, the prizes were won as follows: Women, Miss L. Harris 1. Miss H. Pratt 2. Men, Mr W. Foster 1, Mr. Alan McCully 2. Music for dancing was supplied by Miss Lewis and Mr. A. Pratt was Master of Ceremonies.
