SAFETY OF HARBOUR

FARMERS CONCERNED. “That this branch considers that definite action is required to keep the port of Timaru in a first-class condition by taking steps to prevent the silting up of the harbour” was a remit received from the Pleasant Point branch at yesterday's meeting of the South Canterbury Provincial Executive of the Farmers’ Union. Dawson» intended giving an address > the Chamber of Commerce shortly, and the matter could be discussed at a later meeting, this course being agred to.
