FAVOURABLE VIEWS OF CRITICS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, October 19. Critics favourably notice Mr Hodge’s comedy, commending its humour, humanity and vitality, saying it ought to have a successful run. An earlier cablegram said: After a week’s success at Manchester, where the critics described it as a delightful comedy, smoothly produced, “The Wind and The Rain,” by the New Zealander, Merton Hodge, is opening at St. Martin’s Theatre, under the direction of Auriol Lee. The play is rather reminiscent of “Young Woodley.” Mr Hodge is the first New Zealander to secure . West End production. Another of his plays was bought for production in 1934.
