TENNIS
WAI-ITI CLUB. A meeting of the committee of the Wai-iti Tennis Club was held at the courts, Preston Street, on Thursday. It was decided to go into the question of purchasing a volley board. Nineteen new members were elected. Messrs S. Sullivan and A. N. Leslie were appointed a match committee to arrange for a combined handicap doubles to be commenced immediately. It was also decided to hold a champion challenge competition, which will commence as follows: Women's Doubles—Miss Sullivan and Miss Mclntosh. Mixed doubles—S. Sullivan and Miss Fraser. Men's doubles—Moore and Leslie. The holders will wear a special badge and may be challenged at any time. The Mitchell Cup competition was arranged for to-day. The ladder competition which will be commenced Immediately is to be run under similar conditions as last year. There wiil be 12 names on each ladder and any position may be challenged
