BOWLING
WEST END LADIES’ CLUB, A large number of members and representatives of other clubs attended the opening of the newly-formed West End Ladies’ Bowling Club. The president (Mrs T. Currie) welcomed those present, expressed pleasure at such a large attendance, and remarked on the splendid condition of the green. A telegram from Temuka was read, wishing the club every success. Mr A. R. Clark (South Canterbury Centre) declared the season open, and urged members to remember that the game was the chief thing, and to support their executive. Mrs Currie sent up the jack and Mr T. Curre the first bowl. Afternoon tea was dispensed, and a friendly game was played.
