NAVAL VISITORS

CALLS EXCHANGED ROUTE MARCH TO-DAY I j The usual courtesy calls exchanged between the navy and citizens were paid yesterday, when at 9 o'clock | the Mayor. Mr T. W. Satter "rwaite, j the Town Clerk. Mr A. E. S. Killick. | the chairman and secretary of the Harbour Board, Mr G. T. Dawson and Mr F. Metson, went aboard H.M.&. Dunedin and were received by RearAdmiral F. Burges Watson, D. 5.0.. commanding the New Zealand Station. The call was returned at 10 o’clock when Rear-Admiral Burges W&tson, accompanied by his secretary, Paymaster-Lieutenant J. M. Hogan, visited the Council Chambers. The Mayor, Town Clerk and Councillors were in attendance as was also Colonel S. D. Mason. This morning at 10 o’clock the men from H.M.S. Dunedin, now in port, will stage a route march through the streets to the Bay. Headed by the band the company will proceed via George Street, Stafford Street South, North Street, Latter Street, 1-ing George’s Place, George Street, Stafford Street to Sefton Ltreet, Hewling Street to the Bay, where the Mayor, Mr T. W. Satterthwaite will take the salute from the band rotunda. His Worship asks all citizens who are able to do so to hoist a flag on their premises to-day in honour of Nelson Day. Arrangments have been made so as to afford school children the opportunity of witnessing the ceremony at the Bay.
