NEW AGREEMENT WITH PORTUGAL. British Official Wireless (Received October 19. 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY. October 18. An Anglo-Portuguese agreement was concluded on October 14, regarding the question of flag discrimination in Portuguese ports. By this agreement, the Portuguese Government undertake to abolish all forms of discrimination against British vessels, by July 1. 1934. and In the Portuguese Colonies by July 1, 1936. In return the Government in the United Kingdom, guarantee to continue until June 30, 1941. the protection accorded in the United Kingdom to all descriptions "Port” and "Madeira,” under the Anglo-Portuguese Commercial Treaty of 1914.
