BUTTER SHORTAGE
AFRICA INCREASES IMPORTS. United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CAPETOWN, October 18. In consequence of the shortage of butter, the Government agreed to the Control Board importing 6000 cases, one week's normal requirements. It is estimated that stocks will be reduced by the end of October to 400,0001b5. The position will be reviewed weekly. Imported butter will be sold at the port of landing at 1/6, to be retailed at 2/3. The drought has broken in the cattle districts, but the shortage of butter will continue for some time.
