THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. YVooles. Wind—Variable, moderate to strong westerly to southerly ruling. Weather—Mainly fair, but isolated showers are likely. Dominion Meteorologist. General situation—An anti-cyclone still covers the north Tasman Sea and northern New Zealand, but a series of westerly depressions covers southern Australia and the south Tasman Sea. Winds—Moderate south-westerly still prevailing north of Kawhia and Napier, moderate to strong westerlies thence southwards, gradually tending to north-west. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rather rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate west to north-west winds and smooth to moderate seas. Weather—For the most part fine and mild, but some scattered showers are likely in the western districts from Taranaki southwards.
