Mr Ulm left for Sourabaya at 7.15 this evening, local time, seven hours ahead of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s record. It is stated that it depends on the speed and getaway from Sourabaya whether he can break the record, but there is not much hope. BIG STRUGGLE AGAINST TIME. .SLIGHT DELAY AT SOURABAYA.. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 19, 7.0 p.m.) BATAVIA, October 19. Sourabaya reports state that Mr Ulm arrived there at 6.25 a.m. (local time). He tried to start at nine o’clock for Australia, intending to arrive south of Wyndham at nine o’clock to-night (Australian time). The Fokker, however, stuck in the mud in midfield, causing probably several hours’ delay. The ’plane was not damaged. LAST HOP COMMENCED. ULM LEAVES FOR DERBY.
