Sullivan, thanked the parents of the children for the support they had given to the various efforts made by the school staff to augment the fair funds, and for attending In such numbers that evening. Attention was also drawn to the handwork display which was on view to give parents an idea of what handwork the children were doing for the fair. The community sing proved very successful and a most enjoyable evening was spent by all owing largely to the successful leadership of Mr Malcolm, assisted by Mr Choules as pianist. All the favourite songs were sung with pleasing variations introduced by the leader. During the evening items were given by Mr Malcolm and Adelaide Philips. Mr Warsaw, on behalf of the Committee, thanked everyone for their attendance, and Mr Malcolm and Mr Choules for their services, the officials of the South Canterbury Boxing Association for the loan of material and for assisting at the fixture.
