STORES CONTROL BOARD
EXPENDITURE FOR THE YEAR. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON. October 17. In the House of Representatives today. the Hon. J. Bitchener. chairman of the Stores Control Board, presented the annual report of the board. During the year ended March 31. 1933, the expenditure on the purchase of stores was £2.109,G98 as compared with £2,757,214 in the year ended March 1932. a reduction of £647.mg Compared with the previous year the expenditure on some of the individual items was as under:

James Smith, Ltd. C. Smith. Ltd . and the D.1.C., Wellington, were the ajiplicant? The projxxsals were generally for a reduction In waßes. but more particularly the wages of Juniors For the employers, it was suggested that the starting age should be raised to 18. I the tendency being for Junior, to enter ‘ the trade at a later age than formerly. The proceedings we adjourned without finality being icached.
