DELAYED BURIAL
INDIFFERENCE OF RELATIVES BLAMED. Bt Telegraph —Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH. October 17 A delay of eight days in the burial of an old man .James Gray, who died in the Neu Plymouth Public Hospital on Scpten - . r il, was the subject of a statement b; the chairman. Mr P. E. Stain ton. at a meeting of the Board this afternoon following report* from the hospital officials The chairman said that adequate steps had been taken to avoid any similar occurrence in the future. His investigations showed that the procedure which had been in operation in the hospital for years had been followed. The relatives of the man were immediately noticed i • his death. The apparent IndifTere: of two nephews of Gray wa te *. in cause of the delay in bury: :th uncle, and during the who!'' time the body lay in ths mortuarv till its burial, a search for other relative* was prosecuted. The Board received the various reports and took no further action.
