Dominion Meteorologist. General Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia and extends across the Northern Tasman Sea. A slight secondary depression is crossing southern New Zealand. Winds.—North-westerly to westerly at first south of New Plymouth and Napier, otherwise south-westerly prevailing, moderate to strong generally. Seas (New Zealand waters).—Moderate north of East Cape and heavy about Foveaux Strait; elsewhere rather rough. Eastern Tasman Sea.—Moderate to strong west to south-west winds with moderate to rather rough seas. Weather.—Mainly cool and fair to cloudy, but some scattered showers are likely in most districts.
