At a largely attended public meeting to inquire into the treatment of nurses in the Buller Hospital and hospital affairs in general, the following resolution was carried unanimously : "That those present are dissatisfied with the conduct of the board in the recent inquiry, in the action of the board in suppressing the evidence of the nurses, and in the unfair support given by the board to the matron, and that in the opinion of the meeting the whole of the present dissatisfaction has been caused by the board's maladministration and the attitude of the matron, and that the true position should be placed before the Minister for Health. The meeting was called by the Deputy-Mayor in response to a petition containing 2000 names.
