OBITUARY.
MR FRANCIS SISSON. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph— Copyright NEW YORK, September 17. The death is announced of Mr Francis Sisson, 62 years, vice-president of the Guaranty Trust Coy. of New York, former president of the American Bankers’ Association, and one. of the leading opponents of Mr Roosevelt’s banking programme, particularly the Guarantee Bank Deposits Clause. MR A. G. CREAGH. OAMARU, September 18. The death occurred last evening of a prominent Oamaru citi Mr A. G. Creagh, aged 83 years. He was born in Dublin in 1850, and came to the Dominion as a boy. He was educated in Dunedin, articled to Mr B. C. Haggitt and admitted as a barrister in 1875. He practised in Oamaru ever since. He was the founder of the firm of Messrs Hislop and Creagh, now Messrs Hislop, Creagh and Main. He was Crown Prosecutor from 1885 till recently. He was many years ! solicitor to the Borough and County Councils and the Harbour and Hospital Boards. He was ..eenly interested in all kinds of sport, and at one time owned raceh rses. H'- was u valued oatron of racing, cricket. rowing, football, athletics, cycling and rifle clubs. As a young man he was a keen volunteer and a member of the Dunedir Navals from 1867 to 1875 j . was captain of ! the I. Battery, Oamaru. for several years and founded the Waitaki Me tj ed Rifles in 1901.
