DEATH BED CONVERSION
JAPANESE STATESMAN JOINS CATHOLIC CHURCH
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright WARSAW, August 16. After being baptised a Catholic on his death bed, Mr Hiroyuki Kawai, the Japanese Ambassador to Poland, died to-day. Mr Kawai, who had suffered a lengthy illness, expressed a wish yesterday for conversion. His wife, who is already a Catholic, requested the presence of the Papal Nuncio, who immedfaitely instructed Mr Kawai to be baptised.
