The first spring lamb of the season will be available in Wellington thll week-end, a small shipment being made to-day from Blenheim to the order of an enterprising butcher in the capital. ST. ANDREWS SALE

LARGE CATTLE ENTRY The good cattle market at the last St. Andrews sale encouraged many vendors to enter a large number of cows, heifers and steers at yesterday's auction. The sale was a good one for the better sorts, but low conditioned beasts were harder to sell. Fat cows realised £4. £4/17/6. £4 10/and £4/17'6; small fat heifers to £3 7/6: fat steers to £7/5/-; ar.d store steers £2/15/- to £4. Springing cows made from £2 10/- to £5/17/6, according to quality. The best price for cows in profit was £6.5'-. Fat sheep sold well, the market being under-supplied. Fat wethers made 19 6, 20,'-. 23/3, 25/3 and 26/8. Fat ewes realised 10/- and 14/-. In the store sheep section a line o t three-quarterbred full and failingmouth ewes showing well In lamb was sold at auction at 15 6. A line of twotooth ewes, medium In size, was passed at 15/-. Two or three pens of aged ewes were also passed. Two pens of weaner pigs showeu an advance on previous sales, values ranging from 14/- to 17,6.
