ALLEGATIONS AGAINST DIRECTOR By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, July 31. The trial of James Milward Houston (44), a company director, on eight charges of fraudulently failing to account for money; two charges of theft; and one charge of forgery, was commenced in the Supreme Court. It was alleged that on various dates between October sth, 1928, and Februarl 11th. 1933. accsed omitted to account for £1755, which he had received on behalf of John Burns and Coy., Ltd., and that on April 20th, 1932, and March 31st, 1933, he stole sums totalling £127, the property of Hobart Berkel IN.Z.), Limited. It was further alleged that accused forged a stock sheet purporting to be a correct list of stocks in the possession of Hobart Berkel (N.Z.), Limited, as at March 31st, 1932, and that knowing it to be false, he caused John Burns and Coy.. Ltd., to act upon it as if it were genuine.
