FRESHENED CARPET
EFFECTIVE WAY OF WASHING. Carpets depress wlien they become dull and faded. Much can be done t'o revive the colour and generally freshen up the carpet by washing it. Melt 2oz. yellow soap, quarter oz. of soda in one gallon of boiling water. Then go over the carpet w.th a cloth wrung out of the solution, doing one portion at a time and rubbing in the direction of the pile. Finally wipe the carpet thoroughly with a cloth wrung out of warm water. Allow to dry completely before using. Remember that carpets should never be washed on the floor. The moisture soaking through only hardens the accumulation of dust underheath, and your carpet will soon show signs of wear.
