FOOTBALL
TO-DAY’S MATCHES. The South Canterbury Rugby Union's competitions will be resumed to-day, when matches will be played in all grades. In the senior divisions, two games will be played on Fraser Park, and two in the country. The match on No. 1 ground at 3 o’clock will be between Old Boys and Celtic. The latter have not so far won a match, but they should prove fairly solid opposition for Old Boys, who have just managed to scrape home in their last match. On No. 2 ground at the same time, Pleasant Point will meet Zingari, and this same also should be an evenly contested one. Geraldine and Star have been drawn to meet at Geraldine, while Temuka will play Waihi at Winchester. The curtain-raiser on No. 1 ground at 1.30 will be provided by Celtic and High School A fourths, the game on No. 2 ground at the same hour being between High School A. and Star fifth grade teams.
