Twelve degrees of frost were registered in Temuka yesterday morning. “THE GHOST TRAIN.” A talkie of more than usual merit is being presented at Temuka to-day, under the title of “The Ghost Train,” a British Dominions picture adapted from the popular stage and silent success. Although the production has been presented both as a stage play and as a silent film, neither could possibly incorporate all the thrills that the all-seeing and all-hearing eye of the talkie camera has been capable of collecting as in this picture. An excellent cast of stage and screen celebrities has been collected. Jack Hulbert has the stellar role and is ably supported by Cicely Courtneidge who is incidentally off-stage Mrs Jack Hulbert, and Angela Baddeley. A matinee screening will commence at 2.15 p.m. to-day.

Mr E. Cholerton, proprietor of John R. Procter’s, Ltd., the Premier Opticians, Christchurch, will next be visiting Temuka on July Bth. Appointments can now be made by ringing the U.F.S. Dispensary, No. 240 M
