NEW REGIME IN GERMANY
NO INTERFERENCE TOLERATED. NAZI ECONOMIC LEAGUES DISBANDED. LONDON, May 24. Herr Wagner, the Reich Commissioner for Economics, has ordered the dissolution of all Nazi economic fighting leagues except one (says the Berlin correspondent of “The Times”), because they have become unmanageable, interfering with business without authority, arbitrarily fixing prices, discharging workers, closing private undertakings, and reprehensively retarding the re-birth of economic life. The police will prevent Communists taking refuge in the ranks of the militant Nationalist Leagues. HITLERISED SPORT. CABINET APPOINTS NAZI COMMISSION. BERLIN. May 30. The Government is preparing a scheme for the “Naziflcation” of sport. The German Football Association will control cricket and Rugby, and the Tennis Association will control golf, tennis and ping-pong. A central commission of sport has been appointed to report to the Nazi National Commissioner (von Tschammer) regarding the suitability of the persons in charge of local associations to ensure that Nazi rules will be followed. Von Tschammer declares that the epoch of individualist sport is finished.
