The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date Bth inst: Butter.—N.Z. 80 - to 81 upward tendency. Cheese. —N.Z. white 48/- to 49/-; coloured 53/- to 54/-. FAIRLIE SALE. There was a total yarding of 550 sheep at the sale, held on Tuesday. 226 being fats. The sale was a good one, fat ewes and wethers selling well, in fact, it was the best sale of fats for this season. Following were the principal sales; Seven wethers at 9/9, 7 ewes at 6/4. 8 at 7/-, 7 at 7/1, 6 lambs at 11/3, 54 at 11/4, 20 ewes at 10/4, 6 at 11/3, 12 lambs at 11/-, 15 wethers at 12/1, 12 at 15 8, 58 at 12/6. Fifty ewe lambs at 69/8, 18 wethers at 7/3, 20 ewe lambs 7/9, 24 wethers I at 11/2, 221 at 5/4. Good weaners averaged 9/6; small I 3/-; good stores to 11/-.
