The Best Seller He had been browsing among a stupendous collection of Christmas cards for over half an hour, yet he seemed uncertain as to what he should buy. The trouble lay in the fact that, when he picked out a pleasing illustration, the words inscribed inside were usually quite impossible, and vice versa. Then quite suddenly the assistant, a pretty, fair-haired girl, chose one for him. “Here's a lovely sentiment,” she cooed. “To ‘the only girl I ever loved.' " “Splendid!" he cried, brightening. “I'll take five—no, six of those, please.”
