Dr and Mrs G. Kingston, Grey Road, left yesterday on a visit to Hanmer. Mr and Mrs R. Lewis, Timaru, have left on a visit to Auckland.

Mrs Philip Brandon. Wellington, is the guest of her mother. Mrs R. 73. Morris, “Sunridge,” St. Andrews. Mr and Mrs C. W. Webber, Kitchener Square, will leave to-day for Hae-te-Moana.

Miss Peggy Williams, “Silverton,” Woodbury, left on Thursday on a visit to Hawkes Bay. Mr and Mrs A. Bridge, Christchurch, will spend Christmas and New Year in Timaru.

Mrs E. Bowler and M?ss Marjorie Bowler, Wai-iti Road .will leave today to spend Christmas in Waimate.

Mr C. Bowker, Sarah Street is on a visit to her daughter, Mrs A. C. Stevens, Dunedin.

Mr and Mrs P. B. Courtis, Grasmere Street, are spending the holidays m Dunedin and Invercargill.

Mr and Mrs J. C. Guinness, “Farmleigh,” Ealing, will arrive to-day to stay with Mrs Edgar Jones, “Otiritiri." Miss Nora Gregory, Craighead Diocesan School, has left to spend the holidays in Auckland. Miss Annan, Craighead Diocesan School, is spending the holidays at her home in Central Otago. Miss Ford, “The Crossing," Woodbury will leave to-day to stay witn Mrs J. Ford, “Foxdown."

Mrs H. Holdgate and Miss Audrey Holdgate, Bidwill Street, will leave today to spend Christmas in Ashburton. Miss Parry, Christchurch, is the guest of Mrs A. Lawrence Gee, Wai-iti Road for Christmas.

Mr R. H. Rhodes, “Carne,” Seaiy Street, will leave to-day to spend Christmas with Mrs P. R. Woodhouse, Bluecliffs.

Mrs Gilbert and Mr Geoffrey Gilbert, who have recently arrived in Temuka from Wellington, have taken Mr and Mrs Campbell’s house. Mrs F. A. Raymond, Beverley Road, is staying with Mrs Mervyn Raymond, “Clovelly,” Nelson Terrace, for Christmas.

Mr and Mrs Derrick Gould, Christchurch, arrived yesterday to stay witn Mrs A. S. Elworthy, Holme Station, Pareora.

Mr and Mrs Percy Wright, Christchurch, who arrived in Timaru cn Thursday, are staying in Miss Marion Hay’s flat in Wai-iti Road. Mr and Mrs Graham Heasley and Mr Jock Heasley, will arrive from Christchurch to-day to stay with Mrs J. J. Heasley, Nelson Terrace. Mr Gilbert Robinson, India, will arrive from England to-day to stay with Mr R. and Mrs Gladstone Robinson, “Oakwood,” for Christmas. Mr and Mrs R. Solomon, Oamaru, who have taken Mr G. H. Andrews’s house in Evans Street, will arrive r.i Timaru to-day. Mrs Sinclair-Thomson, “The Crossing,” Woodbury, will leave to-day to stay with her daughter, Mrs Redmond Neill, “Barossa.”

Mr and Mrs G. H. Andrews and Misses Andrews, Evans Street, will leave to-day for their camp at the river.

Mrs C. E. Calder and Miss Betty Calder, Nile Street, will leave to-day for Christchurch to attend the LewisEnglaud wedding which takes place next week.

Mrs Righton Smith. Brunnerton, who was staying with Misses Oliver, “Surrey Downs,” Pleasant Point, has returned to stay with Mrs J. Temple, Highfield. Mr and Mrs W. Fussell, Wellington, Mr and Mrs F. Fussell, Napier, and Mr N. Fussell. Christchurch, will arrive to-day to stay with Miss Fussell, Russell Square. Miss Nancy Bond. “Pareora Cottage,” LeCren’s Terrace, left yesterday to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr and Mrs W. N. Bond, “Dunrobin,” Southland.

Miss Kitty Parr. Perth College, Western Australia, is spending a long vacation in New Zealand and will visit ielat'ons in Timaru, Christchurch and Dunedin before leaving Auckland for Perth on January 26th.

Lady Arthur Grosvenor and her brother, Sir Berkeley Sheffield, Engand, who were the guests of Mrs PL B. S. Johnstone, “Springbank,” Otaio, left yesterday to spend Christmas at the Hermitage.

At the Grand.—Mr and Mrs W. J. Crawford, Mr and Mrs A. G. Melville, Mrs H. E. Shacklock (Dunedin), Dr and Mrs T. A. McGibbon, Mrs Addison (Christchurch), and Mr and Mrs R. A. Solomon (Oamaru). Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Bledisloe will spend Christmas quietly at Government House, Wellington. A distant connection of Lord Bledisloe, Miss D. Harris, arrives from England this week by the Rangitata and will spend some months as the guest of Their Excellencies. Mr and Mrs Harrison, Mr and Mrs Edgar, Wellington, Miss Nettleton, Miss Berry, Misses Walker (2), Christchurch; Misses Mclntosh (2), Miss ironside, New Brighton, Misses Williamson (2), Miss Jones (Dunedin), Misses Service (Invercargill) are staying at Te Kainga. Wai-iti Road for the holidays.

Among the passengers by the Rangitata were a number of English sportsmen who have come out for the fishing season. Sir Philip Lee Brocklehurst, who is accompanied by Lady Brocklehurst, is also keen to try his hand among the big fish. Sir Philip, who has visited the Dominion before, was a member of the British Antarctic Expedition in the Nimrod under Shackleton in 1897.
