CATHOLIC GIRLS’ SCHOOL. The annual distribution of prizes in connection with the primary grades at the Catholic Girls’ School, took place last Friday in the school hall. The Very Reverend M. Murphy, S.M., P.P., who had the previous day presented to the children of the preparatory classes their special prizes and a Christmas token to each of the little ones, presided. The distribution was preceded by several bright choruses and interesting recitations. After the distribution, Father Murphy said some uplifting’ words to his youthful audience, specially impressing on the children to make home and the loved ones around them happy, and to accept joyously the privation of some of those pleasures which in better times their parents were able to give them. He concluded by reminding them there were no holidays from our religious duties, and by wishing all a very happy Christmas.
