Miss Mary Shand, Selwyn Street, has returned from Waimate. Miss Joan Jefferson, Church Street, returned yesterday from Waikari. Mrs J. Henshaw. Wai-iti Road, has returned from a visit to Mrs J. D. McCracken, Rangiora. Miss Aspinall, Christchurch, is the guest of her sister, Mrs Andrew Guild, “Strathearn,” Temuka.
Mrs Clive Crazier, Christchurch, is staying with her mother, Mrs T. W. Satterthwaite, Elizabeth Street. Mr and Mrs P. Boyle, Pleasant Point, will leave to-morrow to stay with Miss Tripp, Orari Gorge. Mrs Barron. Miss Dorothy Barron and Miss Lucy. Gaffaney, Christchurch, are staying with Mrs McCallum, Sefton Street.
Mrs Laurie, Christchurch and Mrs R. C. McClelland, Gisborne, arrived yesterday to stay with Mrs P. Laurie, Evans Street. Mr and Mrs S. Solomon, Mr and Mrs D. A. Solomon and Mr J. Solomon, Dunedin, will arrive to-morrow to stay at the Grand for Christmas. Mr and Mrs H. Sinclair-Thomson, Park Lane, will leave to-morrow to spend Christmas at “The Crossing,” Woodbury. Mr and Mrs J. Goldie, Seddon Street, will leave to-day to stay with their daughter, Mrs Trevor Hawkes, Christchurch.
Mr and Mrs W. Bridgman, who have been spending a short holiday with Mr and Mrs T. Scott, Otipua Road, returned to their home in Dunedin yesterday. Mrs W. A. Moore, "Venard,” Waiiti Road, will leave to-day to spend Christmas with her parents, Sir Joseph and Lady Kinsey, Christchurch. Mr and Mrs G. D. Virtue, Elizabeth Street, who have let their house to Mr and Mrs A. Reeves, Christchurch, for the holidays, will leave to-day to camp at the Ashley River. Captain and Mrs Colin SinclairThomson, Wellington, who are staying with Mrs Redmond Neill, “Barossa,” will arrive to-morrow to stay at “The Crossing,” Woodbury.
Mr and Mrs Hector Scott, Nile Street, will leave to-day on a visit to Queenstown. Mr and Mrs Holmes, Waimate, have taken their house for the holidays. The engagement is announced of Amy Harriet, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Loach, now of Ashburton and formerly of Orari, to William Eldred Jamieson, youngest son of the Rev. J. B. and Mrs Kirk, of Waihao Downs, Waimate.
