THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. YVooles. Wind variable, moderate to strong westerly to southerly ruling; weather changeable, with isolated thunder showers likely. Dominion Meteorologist. A weak anti-cyclone has been passing to the north, while a deep depression has moved off Australia on to the Tasman Sea. Expect variable winds, but northerly soon prevailing and freshening; a change to southerly probable in the far south to-morrow, and later expending northwards. Seas rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits, and rising south of Cape Egmont; elsewhere moderate. Weather mainly fair at first, with rising temperatures, but soon becoming unsettled in western districts, with rain developing. Fairly general rain is probable within the next 24 to 36 hours.
