BURST TYRE
FRAGMENT INJURES ELDERLY LADY. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, December 7. A singular accident resulted in injuries to an elderly lady—Mrs Catherine Blair, of Mount Eden—who was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. Mrs Blair, who is 70 years of age, was walking along a footpath when the tyre on a passing motor-car burst. A large piece of rubber was hurled through the air and struck Mrs Blair knocking her to the ground. The full extent of her injuries is not known, but it is believed that she may have a fractured pelvis. Her condition tonight was not serious.
