POISON FOUND

GISBORNE INQUEST RESUMED. By Telegraph—Press Association GISBORNE, October 7. i After an interval of three months, i the inquest touching the death of Mrs Elizabeth Beattie (48), was resumed this morning before the District Coroner, Mr P. H. Harper, S.M. Mrs Beattie died on August 7, and the inquest was opened the following day and adjourned for a report from the analyst. , Detective McLeod, in re-opening the ' proceedings, stated that the analyst j had discovered 1.6 grains of poison. After exhaustive inquiries the Police had been unable to ascertain how she obtained possession of the poison. The deceased was the wife of a man in South Canterbury and came to Gisborne twelve years ago, with another, with whom she had lived happily.
