About seve years had elapsed since a valuatio: had been made, and he thought it wa the correct thing to do to again ap proach the Government in the matter He stressed the point for the reaso that the matter had been gone int that afternoon, and it had been founc that several ratepayers had taken ad vantage of the privilege granted then under the Act, and had had valuation made. In some cases they had com down considerably, and in fairness tc all the ratepayers, he thought ths Council should press for a valuation of the Borough. Councillor W. H. Hunt agreed that r. revaluation should be made. Councillor H. J. Mathers said tha' even if a revaluation was made, it did not necessarily follow that all the rates would be reduced. There would be a readjustment of values, and the rates would have to be struck to bring in a fixed amount. The resolution was then put to the meeting and carried.
