GRAVE SITUATION IN KASHMIR. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CALCUTTA, January 26. A grave situation has developed in the Kashmir State, where 12,000 Moslem insurgents in the Reasi District, looted and burned 12 villages, including police stations, and post offices at Kashmir. Infantry, cavalry and police reinforcements were rushed to the town of Rajouri, which the insurgents are threatening to attack. Hostility is directed principally against the Hindus TWO GIRLS CONVICTED OF MURDER. CONGRESS CROWD FIRED ON. Two girls charged with the murder of Mr Stevens, the Comilla magistrate, were sentenced to life transportation to-day. Two rioters were killed when the police fired on a violent Congress crowd, who attempted to hold a meeting at Motihari. In Bihar, several police were injured in stone throwing. Express Derailed. The Benares express was derailed for the second time in two days, near Patna. The rails had again been tampered with. Six carriages ran off the line, but miraculously there were no casualties.
