BIG WEEK IN CHRISTCHURCH. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Jan. 26. The Horticultural Week opened this morning, when a civic welcome was tendered the visiting delegates, the bodies represented being the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture, the Fruitgrowers’ Association, the New Zealand University, the State Forest Association of Nurserymen, the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, tne Forestry League and various horticultural societies, as well as the DirectorGeneral of Agriculture. The Deputy Mayor (Rev. J. K. Archer) and Mr O. W. B. Anderson, chairman of the Christchurch Horticultural Society, welcomed the delegates, and Mr A. Campbell, Director of Horticulture replied. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes then opened the conference.
