NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. By Telegraph—Press Assoclat'nn HAMILTON, June 25. The Dominion shooting championship opened at Hamilton to-day in ideal weather. Sportsmen from all over New Zealand were present for the occasion. An open clay bird handicap, was shot to-day. Of 58 competitors, F. E. Cox (Taumarunui) 15 yards, W. O’Brien (Hawera) 11 yards, and A. Aitken (Morrinsville) 12 yards, shot the possible, twenty-four birds, and divided the stake. TRIANGULAR SHOOT GUN V. RIFLE V. MINIATURE. The triangular shoot, South Canterbury Gun Club. v. the Timaru Defence Rifle Club v. Timaru Miniature Rifle Club, will be 10 shots with the shot gun, 10 shots on the open range at 300 yards, and ten shots at the miniature range. Shooting starts at the Gun Club at a quarter to one on Saturday, then to the Defence range, and in the evening on the Miniature range. The Gun Club team will be in charge of president Mr W. R. MAKIKIHI CLUB. The Makiklhi Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot on Monday. The following were the highest scores off the rifle:—W. F. Gorinski 79, 75; C. Clark 79, 74; T. Park 78. G. Park 73, N. Quinn 78, F. Draffln 77, T. Dave 77, H. Caird 76, N. Goodeve 76, D. McDonald 75, A. Craig 75, N. Rae 75, Ron. Clark 74, H. Smith 74, W. Harper 74. Winner of Leach weekly button—W. F. Gorniski. Winner of Mayor weekly button— Ron Clark. OTIPUA RIFLE CLUB. The Otipua Club held their weekly shoot on Monday evening. A trophy, donated by Mr C. Fowler, was won by A. Hawke.
