THE CHURCHES.

TO-MORROW’S SERVICES. To-morrow being Harvest Thanksgiving Day, services will be as follows in St. Mary’s Parish: —Holy Communion at 8 a.m. at St. Mary’s, at 9.30 at St. Michael’s, at 11 a.m. at All Saints, and at 7.30 a.m. at St. Saviour's. Matins at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s and St. John’s, and Evensong at 6.30 at St. Mary's, St. Peter’s and All Saints. The services in Chalmers Church will be conducted by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The morning address will be on “Religion as a Motive Force.” In the evening Mr Hughes will preach on “The Church and its Critics.” The choir by special request will render again the anthem “While the Earth Remaineth” (Maunder). Both services in the Congregational Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. F. J. Shaw. The morning subject will be “The Instinct for Religion,” and that for the evening “Balancing Life on the Right Side.” The choir will sing the anthem “I Will Arise” (Cecil). Visitors are welcome. The Rev. Harold T. Peat will conduct both services in Banks Street Methodist Church to-morrow. The morning theme will be “The Everlasting Gospel,” and the evening text “Why Worry?” The choir will render | an anthem. The morning service at Woodlands Street will be conducted by members of the Y.W.8.C., and in the evening the Rev. F. E. Foot, of Dunedin, will preach. Visitors are cordially invited to all services.

Services at the Baptist Church, Wilson Street, will be conducted by the Rev. C. W. Duncumb to-morrow. “The Ten Commandments” will again come under review at the evening service, when the Second Commandment will be the subject. The Lord’s Prayer will again provide the basis for the morningaddress. Visitors are cordially invited.

The services at Trinity Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. A. J. H. Dow. In the morning the choir will sing “A Psalm of Thanksgiving,” and in the evening “Ecce Homo.”

Special anniversary and harvest services conducted by the Rev. W. J. Couling, of Geraldine, will be held tomorrow morning and evening in the Presbyterian Church at Pleasant Point, and in the afternoon at Totara Valley. The anniversary social will take place on Tuesday evening in St. John’s Church, Point.
