THE WEATHER.
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to strong south to south-east; weather unsettled, and showery at times; colder. Dominion Meteorologist. A general depression is centred east of Otago, but is moving gradually eastward. A moderate anti-cyclone covers Eastern Australia. Expect moderate north-westerlies north of Otago, but a change to moderate to strong southerlies advancing from the south during the night. Seas moderate at first, but later rising on the West Coast and south of Castlepoint. Weather still changeable, with showers at times in most districts, but improving tomorrow; temperatures becoming cooler. There seems a prospect of southerly weather for two or three days.
