SIR THOMAS BIRKIN. United Press Association--By Electrla Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 8. The death is announced of the millionaire Baronet, Sir Thomas Birkin, father of Captain H. Birkin, who succeeds to the title. [The late Sir Thomas Birkin was born on February 15, 1831, and was consequently in his 101st year.] DR ALAN HOPKINS. By Telegraph—Pruas Association HOKITIKA, April 9. The death occurred this morning, after a brief illness, of Dr Alan Hopkins, surgeon superintendent of the Westland Hospital. He leaves a 'VTubw and one child. He was aged 34 years.
