SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. SUCCESS OF TIMARU PLAYERS. By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, April 6. The South Island lawn tennis championships were continued to-day in fine weather. S. I. McDougall, Guy and Bray were all defeated by younger players in the fourth round of uhe men’s championship singles, in which W. G. Robertson (Timaru) and C. Deaker (Dunedin), have reached the final, the former by defeating Boddy 6-0, 6-4, and the latter by defeating Pollock 6-3, 7-5. The semi-final stage was reached in the men’s doubles, the remaining pairs being Boddy and Cox, the Otago champions, and Robertson and Sumpter. The ladies’ championship singles was won by Mrs W. A. Scott (Timaru), who defeated Miss Miller (Oamaru) 6-4, 6-1. In the semi-finals of this event, Miss Miller defeated Miss Partridge 6-3, 6-2, and Mrs Scott beat Miss Pattison 6-4, 6-3. The ladies’ championship doubles has reached the semi-final, and lies between Misses Pattison and White, the Otago champions, and Mrs Scott and Miss Cox (Otago). KOZELUH AGAIN BEATS TILDEN.
