GERALDINE.
FOOTBALL. Interest in football is again assuming quite an important place in the conversation of the township. A suggestion has come from one quarter that the Geraldine Football Club should amalgamate with the Waihi Football Club, the senior team playing at Winchester and the lower grades at Geraldine. However, this does not meet with altogether unanimous support, and those who are desirous of seeing the Geraldine Club retained as a separate entity are talking over the possibility of fielding teams in junior, fourth and fifth grades, or third, fourth and fifth grades. There are still a few optimists who would like to see a senior fifteen, and although the possibilities of this seem meagre for the present season, it will probably be one of the topics discussed at the annual meeting of the Club. PERSONAL. Mr B. R. Macdonald, “Waitui,” has been visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs E. Undrill, Geraldine, visited Christchurch for the week-end. Mrs E. H. Logan, accompanied by Miss Logan, Geraldine, is the guest of Mrs E. A. Jones, Wellington. Miss R. Mulhern, “Kashmiri,” Geraldine, is at present on annual vacation. GUIDES’ CHURCH PARADE. Members of the Geraldine Girl Guide Company and the Geraldine Brownie Pack paraded at the Geraldine Presbyterian Church yesterday morning. The service was conducted by the Rev. W. J. Couling.
