FIRE IN RANGOON.
FAMOUS PAGODA DESTROYED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright CALCUTTA, March 9. The famous Shwedagon pagoda in Rangoon was badly damaged by fire, which destroyed the Tazaungs . or miniature places of worship, beautifully carved, containing golden images, studded with precious stones. The damage is estimated at £15,000.
