RAILWAY HOUSES.
THE RENTAL QUESTION. By Teleeraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, March 10. The Minister of Railways announced to-day that a senior officer of the Department had been deputed to investigate the rentals of railway dwellings, with a view to removing anomalies. The Minister said while the new method of calculating such rentals was much more equitable than the old system, it was apparent that in some cases the rentals to be improved were too high. An officer had been authorised to re-adjust all cases in which the rents to be charged are excessive.
