TIMARU LADIES’ CLUB. CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Timaru Ladies’ Golf Club was held last evening. The president (Mrs Sheldon), presided over an attendance of more than 50 members. The annual report stated that there was a credit balance of £2l. Os 3d. It was also stated that the Club membership last year had been 176. After surviving a challenge by the Avonside Club for the Boyle Cup, the Club had lost it to the Christchurch Ladies’ Club. The Cup had been held by Timaru for five years, and was lost on the thirteenth challenge. There had been a record entry for a match arranged in aid of the Cancer Fund, the resulting donation to the fund being £5. In addition to the Boyle Cup matches, 14 other matches with outside clubs were played. The club championship had been won by Miss Pringle and the junior championship by Miss Holdgate. The unearned championship had been won by Miss Creemer. The South Canterbury open and handicap tournament had been held in May, when the South Canterbury championship was won by Mrs Templer, of Waimate, and the Highfield trophy by Miss J. Horwell, Timaru. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Miss F. Pringle; vice-president, Mrs L. E. Finch; captain, Mrs W. A. Scott; hon. secretary. Mrs M. Minifie; hon. treasurer, Miss F. M. Clissold; committee, Mrs F. Oxford, Misses A. A. Holdgate and I. McKerchar. The secretary reported that there were 15 new members. It was decided to open the season on March 31st.
