SHIPPING DUES.
SUEZ CANAL SCALE ATTACKED. United Press Association—By Klectrie Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 8. At the Imperial Merchant Service Guild meeting next week, it is intended to strongly attack the Suez Canal shipping dues, which members regard as an unjust imposition on British vessels, handicapping British trade. The report by the Guild shows that one vessel paid £3BOO for a double voyage. One passenger ship paid £30,000 yearly. The Guild points out that the canal’s profits have swollen yearly, despite the recent slight reductions.
