LIQUID CHEMICALS FALL FROM ’PLANES.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received March 9, 9.30 p.m.) TOKIO, March 9. An unprecedented mishap occurred at the aeroplane manoeuvres in Tokio yesterday. A smoke screen of liquid chemical failed to vapourise, owing to the low temperature, and the liquid descended in a heavy spray on the dense crowds of onlookers, injuring faces and clothing. The authorities issued a statement explaining the mishap, and promising to compensate the sufferers.
