SCOUT RALLY.
BIG GATHERING AT ADDINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, March 7. Nearly 3000 Boy Scouts and Girl Guides greeted Lord and Lady Baden Powell in a great scout rally at the Show Grounds to-day. A ceremonious march past was made in fours, the Chief Scout taking the salute. There were many special displays of scout and guide work. During the afternoon, Lord Baden Powell addressed the gathering. He said he was delighted with the rally, which was the best he had yet seen in New Zealand. The rally concluded with the “Grand Yell,” and a rush in which the whole body of Scouts and Guides, waving hats, staves and banners on high, charged down on the dais, giving their Scout “yell.”
