RAILWAY GUARD MANGLED. By Telegraph—Press' Association WOODVILLE, March 5. Thomas H. Beale (48), married, resident at Palmerston North, a guard on the railways, met with a shocking accident hi the Woodville railway yards about 11 o’clock, last night. Nobody saw the accident, but it is believed he was stepping from his own train when a van and two trucks, which had been kicked off from another line, knocked him down. The body was terribly mangled, and death must have been instantaneous. Deceased came to the North Island 'from Dunedin, and before living at Palmerston North, was stationed at Marton.
