BISHOP’S BLUNDER.

SEALED FATE OF RUSSIAN v COURT. United Press Association—By Electric Tolegraph—Copyright LONDON, March 2. The “Morning Post’s” correspondent at Sofia says that the Russian Orthodox Archbishop Teophane, now exiled in Bulgaria, introduced Rasputin into the Russian Court, and when he realised the harm he was doing, made every effort to remove Rasputin. As he failed he resigned the Court chaplaincy, and determined to spend the rest of his years expiating the error, to which he attributed the downfall of Czarism. Archbishop Teophane fled to Bulgaria in 1920, and spends the whole of his time praying before an ikon. He eats just enough to keep himself alive; he wears horsehair garments. The greater part of his nights is spent in vigil. His will power is displayed by self-imposed expiation. He commands the admiration of the leaders of the Bulgarian churcff, who urge the younger clergy to attain similar spiritual devotion.
