MELBOURNE ITEMS. United Press Association —By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, March 3. J. L. Cox, a former leading steeplechase jockey, is dead, aged 54. Greenline Is to remain at Melbourne and ran in the -Leonard Stakes on Saturday. At the yearling sales, a colt by Gay Lothario-Balkan Rose, was sold to Mr W. O'Dwyer, at 450gns. A colt by Manfred-Golden Emblem, went to Mr B. Chaffey at 325gns. A colt by Man-fred-Quality Street, was bought by Mr P. T. Heywood, at 500gns. A colt by Manfred-Sister Olive, was sold to Mr E. Wood, at 400gns.
