THE WEATHER.
Dominion Meteorologist. An anti-cyclone is stiff centred over southern districts. Pressure remains relatively low to the northward of the Dominion. Expect moderate to strong south-east to east winds north of Westport and Kaikoura, squally at times, between East Cape and Cook Straight; light and variable winds south of Westport and Kaikoura, later tending to northerly. Seas rather rough about Cook Strait and the East Coast of the North Island; elsewhere smooth to moderate. Weather still mainly fair to fine; cool temperatures, with some scattered showers likely in the far north and East Cape districts.
